Roxy
Perhaps there's another way.
No evidence is present yet.
Is a new way necessary? Ask
the French. For they will know
what we don't know.
Revolution! Roxy says so.
She’s a French cabaret dancer.
With me she slept last night.
Restless Roxy slept. Spoke as she
slept. Fight the power she said.
Repeatedly.
I awoke to The Star-Spangled Banner.
Phonograph still playing. Public Enemy’s
poster Fight the Power flapping wildly.
I close the shutters, replay the anthem.
Repeatedly.

I cannot speak for my poetry, my poetry must speak for itself.
