I read Wallace Stevens poem titled...
...Like Decorations in a Nigger Cemetery.
Oh! I meant to say, the revered Wallace Stevens;
him being that noted poet of yesteryear.
If I were to have a word with the late great
Wallace Stevens, would I decorate; no, desecrate
his cemetery with Like Decorations??
Nigger is a name I'm referenced, it's not
the name I answer too. Tulips and petunias,
the lilacs and daffodils that will grace my grave;
the tombstone that will not tumble, given
the terrible tempest of wind will surely stand,
In the far South the sun of autumn is passing.
